RWBY: GRIMM DARKNESS

This is an idea for a RWBY fanfic that I've had in mind for several months and have finally gotten down to writing it. It would take place at the very least after Volume 2 and involve a new threat different from what has been seen in the show. (WARNING: SPOILERS)

The story mainly involves something occurring with Dust shipments from the Schnee Dust Company. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long investigate what is going on and for what reasons. They also meet Aurina, a princess, during the course at the story. Over time, we learn a bit about Weiss's father, what he's planning, and that he's having Dust taken to a specific location. As the story progresses, Team RWBY discovers that Vlad Schnee (Weiss's father) is the one behind what's going on when he kidnaps Aurina from her palace. He's also using something to control various Grimm (a number of which resemble various Pokémon) in order to attack those that threaten his plans.

At one point, Ozpin and Glynda attempt to take Vlad on, but due to very potent Dust that he's using, he's able to defeat and nearly kill them. Later, Vlad has Penny abducted and programmed to go after Team RWBY later on, although they snap her out of it. Eventually, Team RWBY with the help of Team JNPR manage to find where Weiss's father has taken Aurina to and upon confronting him, they learn just how horrible of a person he is and that he's using Weiss for his own ends. Among the things that Vlad is planning to do is total genocide of the Faunus race and the eradication of the Huntsmen and Huntresses! A large battle ensues between Teams RWBY and JNPR and Vlad's henchmen. Ruby attempts to take Vlad on, but suddenly, Vlad uses his weapon to shoot Ruby, causing her to fall to the ground!

After shooting Ruby, Vlad and his men take the rest of Team RWBY and also Team JNPR hostage and he threatens to kill all of them unless Weiss and Aurina agree to come with him. He has both of them brought into the chamber where Giranarok can be summoned and reveals the details of his master plan. He's been using his role as President of the Schnee Dust Company in order to collect vast quantities of Dust so that he can break the seal preventing Giranarok from appearing. Vlad also reveals that his plan would've happened sooner if it weren't for the White Fang attacking various shipments of Dust, also revealing why the White Fang made him angry; they were unknowingly derailing his plans!

However, more is needed in order to summon Giranarok, two people imbued with Aura, which the Aura will be used in conjunction in order to bring forth said Grimm! Vlad reveals that he had Weiss train and hone her skills rigorously, including having her go to Beacon Academy, in order to become imbued with enough Aura in order to act as one of the "keys" to Giranarok, and Princess Aurina, who is known to be naturally imbued with lots of Aura, was originally meant to be the other. After saying this, Vlad has his men bring Ruby into the chamber, Ruby's sister Yang screaming out for Ruby to come to, only to no avail. It turns out that Vlad has discovered that Ruby possesses extraordinary Aura, even more than Aurina, and that she'll take Weiss's place as one of the "keys"!

As his plans are coming to fruition, Vlad reveals his purpose for Giranarok. After summoning it, he will take control of the Grimm and use it to destroy half the world, and then force the surviving half into surrendering to him, lest they be destroyed as well! Vlad also plans on wiping out all the Faunus as well as every Huntsman and Huntress using it! Upon hearing this, Aurina and Weiss are appalled at what Vlad is planning to do, Weiss more so because this means that her father has been using her this whole time for his own insane desires, and she says this to him "This whole time, it wasn't the White Fang that caused me pain growing up, it was you! You used me for your sick delusions! I'm ashamed to be your daughter!" However, upon hearing this, Vlad decides to reveal something else to Weiss…

…that she was never a Schnee by birth! As it turns out, Weiss was an orphan that Vlad discovered and decided to take in and raise as his own in order to further his plans. He says she was too young to remember, but that he was glad to make her part of the Schnee legacy, although she's no longer necessary, just like her grandfather. As it turns out, Vlad's father and Weiss's grandfather was said to have been killed by the White Fang, but as is revealed here, Vlad killed his own father in order to take control of the Schnee Dust Company and used the White Fang as a scapegoat! Even worse, remember when Weiss said that family and board members for the Schnee Dust Company disappeared due to actions by the White Fang, it was all a lie, and that Vlad himself disposed of such people due to them not supporting his insane ambitions! Upon finding all of this out, Weiss decides to try and stop her father, only for him to hit her with his weapon and send her to the ground.

Pointing his weapon at her, Vlad decides to say this to Weiss "You served my purposes, Weiss, but now you're in my way! I don't need you any longer! First let me thank you for being Daddy's good girl!" As the unconscious Ruby starts to come to, Vlad says this to Weiss "Good bye, Weiss!" with the intent of shooting her at point blank range and ending her life! However, just before he gets a chance to, Ruby manages to shoot Vlad's weapon using Crescent Rose. Then a short fight between Ruby and Vlad commences, with Vlad saying "Now, kid!" with Ruby responding with "I'm not a kid! I! DRINK! MILK!!" causing her to get a second wind and beat Vlad back. However, when he's knocked back to near Weiss, Vlad grabs her and points his weapon at her, telling Ruby that if she values Weiss's life, she'll join Aurina on the central platform in the chamber. Ruby reluctantly obeys Weiss's father and gets onto said platform. While still holding Weiss hostage, Vlad manages to activate the platform, which causes Ruby and Aurina to become engulfed in rune-like circles as the small mountains of Dust placed throughout the chamber begin to glow brightly.

Outside the mountain containing Giranarok's chamber, everyone outside sees beams shoot up into the sky. Suddenly, from inside the chamber, a massive Grimm materializes; Giranarok! (Giranarok is supposed to resemble a Grimm version of Giratina from Pokémon.) After Ruby and Aurina collapse from having a ton of Aura drained from them, using a crystal imbued in his right hand, Vlad takes control of Giranarok and explains to his daughter that it is a Grimm that comes from a twisted dimension and has the power to tear time and space. He then decides to have Giranarok demonstrate its immense power by completely obliterating Beacon Academy followed by the City of Vale, Weiss actually yelling "No!" in return!

Giranarok bursts out of the mountain it appeared in, everyone in shock at what they're seeing. As Vlad comes out of the chamber holding Weiss, he throws her to where Blake and Yang are being held and says that they will all witness the destruction of Beacon Academy and the erasure of two of the four kingdoms! At this point, however, Vlad's men are attacked by Velvet Scarletina and her team along with Ozpin, Glynda, and Ruby's uncle Qrow, who have all arrived in order to stop what Vlad's planning to do. Vlad, however, simply boasts that he's already awakened Giranarok and that it will destroy half the world, and for them to say goodbye to Beacon! Due to the surprise attack, Team RWBY and Team JNPR are able to break free of their captors and help fight Vlad's henchmen. Weiss and Jaune head back inside Giranarok's chamber in order to make sure Ruby and Aurina are all right and help them out of the chamber.

However, Giranarok is already on its way to Beacon Academy, where everyone there sees it and begins an evacuation using the school's airships. However, using a link that he has with it, Vlad commands Giranarok to target the ships, saying that no one will escape its power. Giranarok fires blasts of energy that hit various landmasses, causing them to dissolve out of existence. Back at where the fight is occurring, Glynda calls Vlad out on his insane plans while Weiss notices something about him controlling Giranarok, and that they may be able to disrupt it if they attack him. With this, Ruby and Weiss decide to engage in taking Vlad down and manage to dodge a number of Dust-based attacks his weapon utilizes (similar to Weiss's Myrtenaster). They manage to reach him and Ruby manages to hit the crystal Vlad is using to control Giranarok, causing him to lose control and for it to stop its advancement towards Beacon Academy.

However, Vlad manages to fire a blast of green Grass-based Dust, which creates bursts of tall grass that cause Ruby and Weiss to be knocked back, allowing him to escape and meet at where Giranarok is. Team RWBY decides to follow Vlad in pursuit while Team JNPR and Velvet's team stays behind to take care of Vlad's men. When they reach him, though, Vlad is able to regain control of Giranarok and proclaims that Team RWBY will have the honor of being the first to be sent to oblivion by the ultimate Grimm. With this said, Ruby and her friends have no choice but to take Giranarok on, with Blake doubting that they can defeat an extradimensional godlike Grimm. A large battle with Giranarok commences, a battle far larger than they've had with any other Grimm, with Team RWBY utilizing all of their abilities in order to try and take down the monster, and its blasts causing various parts of the landscape to dissolve away. However, all they manage to do is slow it down. Eventually Team JNPR and Velvet's team arrive and decide to assist in taking it down, and in addition Aurina has decided to take part in the battle as well. Eventually, Yang gets an idea; they have to destroy the crystal Vlad is using to control Giranarok.

With their plan in mind, Teams JNPR and VLVT (fan-name) decide to keep Giranarok busy while Team RWBY focuses on Weiss's father. However, he proves to be a tough adversary even for four girls, due to using large amounts of Dust in order to enhance his own abilities. Eventually, Weiss manages to lay a powerful blow on her father while Ruby aims for the crystal on his hand and manages to hit it so hard that it shatters. With that, Vlad loses control of Giranarok permanently while due to its connection to the crystal, the humongous Grimm becomes paralyzed and falls to the ground. Shocked at what has just happened, Vlad runs to Giranarok and proclaims that it'll phase back into its own dimension and that as a result, his plan, which took years to move forward, has been ruined. However, going up to Giranarok, he proclaims that he can still do something else.

Suddenly, Weiss's father reveals that under his coat is a bunch of large Dust crystals, and he decides to take his right hand and put it onto Giranarok, causing him to suddenly absorb some of its power as the Dust crystals break, which he then absorbs! He then doubles in size and his shape transforms into something horrible! Vlad proclaims that if he can't have the world, then he will destroy it in its entirety! With that, a climatic final battle commences with the transformed Vlad, who manages to possess some of Giranarok's powers! The battle is tense, as Weiss's father is extremely powerful and proclaiming that Team RWBY, Team JNPR, Team VLVT, and everyone they know will be wiped from existence along with everything else that exists! As the battle progresses, Vlad creates an ever-expanding force that erases all that it consumes, and if he's not stopped, then the entire world will cease to exist! It takes a while, but eventually Team RWBY manages to figure out how to down Vlad and puts that plan into action, requiring all four of them to participate.

Yang manages to use Ember Celica in order to block Vlad's Dust-based attacks while Blake uses Gambol Shroud in order to slightly stall Vlad. With that done, Weiss uses her instant runes in order to get in close and trap her father in a cage of runes, also using Myrtenaster to trap him in ice. However, Vlad almost breaks out, but is stopped by Aurina using her semblance of controlling Aura in order to fire a continuous blast at him. With that done, Weiss tells Ruby to finish it and creates a path of rues for Ruby to follow at high speeds. One she reaches Vlad, she manages to make a powerful slice through him using Crescent Rose, causing a burst of what look like rose petals to appear. This attack sends Vlad right into Giranarok, and both are suddenly engulfed in a dimensional distortion and both of them dissolve away, the President of the Schnee Dust Company screaming in the process before being silenced as he vanishes entirely.

With both Giranarok and Vlad gone, it's over. Ozpin, Glynda, and Qrow all arrive to make sure everything's all right. Amazed at Team RWBY managing to protect the world from total oblivion, Ozpin congratulates all of them for their prowess and wishes that Beacon had an award for students that saved the world. Aurina gives Ruby her deepest gratitude for what she and her friends have done. With the truth about her relation to the Schnee family now revealed, Ruby asks Weiss what she's going to do about it. Weiss says that it doesn't matter how she became a Schnee, she's a Schnee, and is currently in line to inherit the Schnee Dust Company. She says that when she's old enough to manage it, she's going to undo the evil that her father used the company for and make it more beneficial.

Later, at Aurina's palace, Teams RWBY, JNPR, and VLVT are all awarded high honors for their heroic actions by the princess herself. After doing so, Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang all wonder what could be in store for them, while Ozpin and Glynda wonder just what extraordinary power the four of them possess and what kind of Huntresses they might become.

Info (WARNING: SPOILERS): Vlad Schnee is the father of Weiss and also the president of the Schnee Dust Company, the largest Dust mining corporation in the world. However, he's definitely not a good person, as the Schnee Dust Company is cited for its controversial labor force and questionable business partners, as well as Weiss stating that she had a very difficult childhood due to her father coming home angry regularly, although this is presumably because of the Faunus organization White Fang attacking the company. However, Vlad is far worse than that, as it turns out he's very cruel and abusive and is also responsible for Weiss's scar over her eye. However, even that's just the tip of the iceberg.

As it turns out, Vlad is using his own company for an evil scheme that will change all of Vytal for the worse! He's been mining Dust over the years as well as breeding Weiss to serve a role in his plan. Vlad is even racist against the Faunus and also has a hatred for Huntsmen and Huntresses. He wants to awaken the ultimate Grimm, Giranarok, and will stop at nothing to achieve it. During the events of the story, Vlad does a number of nasty things, such as kidnapping Princess Aurina in order to be used as part of his plan, beating Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch within an inch of their lives, taking control of Penny and programming her to attack Team RWBY and their friends, and as the climax nears, shoots Ruby Rose!
